Though her co-star Sharon Rooney may have firmly taken centre stage following the first series of Mad Fat Diary with her portrayal as Rae Earle, Jodie Comer's career seems to be going from strength to strength as well.

As the second series of the Channel 4 programme gears up to hit TV screens next month, in which Comer plays Rae's best friend Chloe, the young actress has just been cast in forthcoming BBC series Remember Me alongside Game of Thrones actor Mark Addy and Monty Python star Michael Palin, marking Palin's first lead in a dramatic role in 20 years. With the release of the three part thriller later this year the actress, who has previously starred in British TV shows such as Casualty, Vera and Holby City, looks set to be propelled further into the spotlight.
